Tandem FlyingCall 805.968.0980 or email to Schedule or order Gift Certificates. Eagle Paragliding offers tandem flights from Elings Flight Park, and the local ridges.. There is no prior experience necessary for a tandem flight, or a 1 Day Introductory Paragliding Lesson. Age is not a factor. We can get just about anyone up on a tandem flight. Elings Flight Park Tandem Elings Flight Park has an amazing views of the Pacific Ocean, the Channel Islands, and the Santa Barbara Mountains. The flight is about a minute long as we fly out toward the Pacific floating like a bird making gentle turns before landing. Coastal Tandem Flight We fly coastal tandem at a variety of locations depending on the conditions. The smooth ocean breeze pushes on shore, and we are able to stay aloft and fly with birds at the edge of the ocean. These ridge soaring tandems are lots of fun, and we can accommodate a large group of passengers when the ridge is working. Tandem flight can be enjoyed by anyone under 260 pounds of any age with no prior experience necessary. Minors need to be accompanied by an adult. We use a larger canopy designed to carry the weight of two people. Each person has their own harness, and the passenger and instructor are connected together with spreader bars. The Tandem instructor sits in the back and the passenger sits in front. We organize our equipment and do a simulation before our actual launch. The instructor double checks your buckles and straps, clips you in, and we turn and wait for a nice launch cycle. When the wind is right we build energy by running together as the wing comes overhead into the flying position. We run with the wing as we are lifted of the ground, up, up, and away! The flight will last at least twenty minutes, maybe more depending on the conditions and your karma. The passenger is flying in the front seat exposed to the wind. The temperature at altitude may be quite cold even though the surface temperature is warm. It's best to prepare for cold by bringing multiple layers. Your instructor can brief you on the expected temperature at altitude the morning of the flight. The following clothing is recommended. *Protective footwear, no open toe shoes We are available seven days a week if you schedule in advance. Try us at 805-968-0980 if your in town and the weather looks good. Our ability to launch and fly safely is dependent on the weather. We look forward to sharing your first paragliding flight with you. |
